We’re visiting all 50 states in 5 years! This journey began in May 2017 and we’ll check the last state off our list in May 2022. Read this blog post to learn more about the heart behind 50 in 5 and why we decided to pursue it at this time in our lives.
50 in 5 Rules
1. States we’ve previously visited—together or separately—do not count. We started from scratch in May 2017. We must visit each state together, including Washington, D.C.
2. For a state to officially be counted for 50 in 5 we must spend the night, visit a local attraction, or dine at a local (non-chain) restaurant.
3. Souvenirs are fun to collect, but they’re just things. And 50 different things take up a lot of space! We’re simply collecting photos and maybe a knick-knack or two along the way. Plus, we purchased a journal in our first state to keep a handwritten account of our travels.
